John Shih was looking for something he could take to the track and compete seriously. With a stiff chassis right off the lot, a simple design which makes it easy to work with, and readily accessible aftermarket support, the 2006 Mazda 3 was an easy choice.

FAVORITE MODIFICATION:
"Custom turbo charged the car that was based on NA engine. Most people will ask me if this was a Mazdaspeed3 but when they learn this is started as a NA Mazda 3 they are mostly surprised."

FUTURE MODIFICATIONS:
"Will spend more efforts on the aero development, to become more competitive with the local time-attach events as well as auto-x event.

Also develop stiffer chassis, such as stitch welding the chassis and further cage build.

Possible looking into all-wheel-drive conversion with custom tubular rear sub-frame."
