Ruben Correia purchased the 1972 Austin Mini in 2016 and had the intention to (only) restore the vehicle to its rightful beauty. "After seeing I could modify the Mini," mentions Correia, "I tried to do something different." A Honda motor was installed to the 1972 Mini, and with the lack of space in the bay many thought he couldn't fit and/or modify it (the motor) more. "Over the winter I made a custom turbo kit for it, Correia states.

Prior to the Mini, Correia owned a 1992 Honda Civic EG with a K20 motor in 2009. Unfortunately, the car was stolen. Shortly after, another Honda Civic, this time in the form of a boosted EP3, was next up as a project car. Correia currently still owns the EP3 but he wanted something different. As a result, he purchased the Mini.
