Lee Vermont: 2011 Infiniti G37 Convertible

Lee Vermont got involved in the car scene after purchasing his first Infiniti G37 convertible in 2009. After a driver U-turning into his lane, resulting in a wreck, Vermont purchased a 2011 Infiniti G37 convertible in February 2018. The current convertible was planned to be modified immediately with some part-transfers where applicable from the 2009 'vert. After the usual 'waiting for some parts' and 'shop time', the car made its debut in April 2018 coming from bone stock.

"I started modifying after joining the G forum's to gain some insight and feedback on what may work for the convertible," mentions Vermont. "The car is already rare to be seen on the road and would be that more unique when modified."Not many people go for a convertible due to summer-only driving and the extra weight for bracing, but with the hard top, it's the best of both worlds. "The Infiniti G convertible also had the best lines with the top up."

One aspect of modifying the G is that there are not many options available on the market, and eventually they all look similar. Superstar Customs played a roll in many 'worldwide firsts' for the G37 convertible platform - first hardline trunk setup, first custom-molded carbon fiber front lip with winglets from Successful Automotive.  Successful Automotive played a critical roll in the replacement build with the first-ever vented carbon fenders for the G37 coupe, installed on the convertible.

New for the build was another first for the G37 convertible with 2 custom removable dualburnt exhaust tips, modified by Superstar Customs, and a world's firstone-off custom spat to cover the exhaust tips.

"I was asked why get another convertible after 8 years on the first build," mentions Vermont. "My response was 'I have not achieved my final form.'" Vermont modifies when he's outgrown a specific look and on his own time. There is nothing else out like Vermont's G37, as the "typical" G37 hard top convertible owner won't be modifying their car.

FAVORITE MODIFICATION
"Airlift 3H. This is due to practicality. The best of both worlds! To air-out at shows and save tires driving near stock height. The Motordyne exhaust hangs low on the G37, so air ride will also save the exhaust from being damaged. On the first build with coilovers I had bottomed out going over a dip in the road."
