The majority of us start with a vehicle that takes us from Point A to Point B. With that same vehicle, some of us take time and invest into the customization of it with wheels, a lowering kit, speakers, bolt ons, etc. Then when you're bored or need a change, you work on another vehicle. That was the case of Jonathan Zuniga. He didn’t purchase this 1995 Nissan 240sx... he traded it for his Audi A4.

When John got the 240sx, it didn't have a turbo. It was pretty beat up inside and out - paint chipping, dents, door dings and uneven bodylines. This car had a whole mess of problems! He drove it in this condition for about a year and then decided to make it into a show car. He started with the engine - bought a Greddy turbo kit and never looked back. It was the hardest part to get tuned just right. The guys at Pann Auto / Car Tune got it to perfection! After investing enough cash in this vehicle, the motor was rebuilt and ran very solid. After some well-earned and anticipated spirited driving, John readied the car for paint.
John started on the exterior with a VIS Racing body kit. It was molded and prepared for paint. Unfortunately, after driving it home from the body shop, he cracked the fiberglass bumper and bent the front-driver fender on his driveway because the car was so low. $450 later, the repairs were made. Frustrated, John almost gave up on the build. But, that didn't stop his passion and enthusiasm! He choise to continue with the build.
It was time to pick a color. It took about 6 months for John to make up his mind because he didn't want to have the same color of any of the cars out there. He eventually went with Tonga Green from the Range Rover and also purchased a set of Varrstoen 2.2.2 matte black wheels. At the same time he bought the wheels, his friend bought the same style and size but in a polish finish. When he saw his friend's wheels, he realized that he had made the wrong decision with his original purchase. So, he convinced his friend to trade the wheels (with some cash). He just had to have them! John put the wheels on and loved the way they looked! He purchased an NRG camber kit and gave it an aggressive stance.
John made a few trips to Los Angeles on his days off to get more of the key ingredients for his build - Buddy Club seats, Buddy Club Super Low Down rails and Takata harnesses and harness bar. He wanted more of a custom and personal feel to the car, so he Burberry'ed the headliner. The cool thing about this particular part of the build is that his mother-in-law did the upholstery. His wife also got into the action and helped with the headliner and door panels. His mother-in-law also got a little creative and made the shift boot out of the remains of the fabric. The back seat was also reupholstered in red to mactch the same red of the seats, but this was done at a shop.

With everything together, John still felt that something was missing. Something so small, in fact, that the license plate effected the entire overall feel. He bought a custom Euro plate for the front bumper with "WELL SPENT" engraved onto it - a recognition to all the hard work, long days and the support of his loving wife (and mother-in-law) for expensive hobby... practically going hungry to make this all happen!
