Chris Przybylek bought the 2011 Honda Civic Si brand new in 2010. He had a vision for it then and could only hope that one day he'd be able to make that vision become a reality. The first modification to the car was a set of 19" TSW wheels that his brother had bought him as a wedding gift. "My wife, Elisa, still argues that it's not considered a wedding gift since it was just for me," laughs Przybylek. Very slowly he added more parts and created the build.
"I started with a suspension, then upgraded the front and rear to the JDM conversions," remembers Przybylek. He watched online for something to come up and was able to find the conversions online from a guy hours away selling it. "My wife and I took the trip and picked it up," he states. Przybylek painted the parts to match the car and installed it. A year later he was able to pick up a carbon fiber JDM front conversion and, yet again, got the wife back into the car for another 5-hour ride to pick it up. "We were able to get that for a steal since we were unsure if it was going to be able to be repaired," he mentions. After hours of labor on it, it looked pristine and was qualified to be added to the Si. "From that point on we were on a roll."
A Kraftwerks supercharger was installed in their driveway with all the bells and whistles. "My wife started to see my vision and even had one of her own so it worked well for both of us as a team," he states. They continued adding to the Si - building their own custom headlights, installing new carpeting and headliner, updating to racing seats with harnesses and harness bar - they built their own special and custom features to the car and it became their specialty.
Every item installed and/or built was done by Przybylek and his wife in their driveway with some assistance from their teenage daughter. It has become a pride of the family as they did it as a team. "What we have created was even more than I had imagined for this build," mentions Przybylek, "and it just keeps getting better."
The Civic is displayed at shows and meets nearly every weekend. "We take great pride in our build and love to share it with others who appreciate the time and effort we have put into it," Przybylek mentions. "This is what keeps us going."
