STORY
I purchased the car brand new as a daily driver. I had no plans to modify the car, just maybe tint and that's it. I started doing research on the car and realized that no one's ever made this car into a show car - let's be unique! I contacted Turbokits.com and ordered their stage III kit which brought the car up to 300whp; not bad considering the car came with 150whp and I'm still on the stock block. I added a Turbonetics t03/t04e turbo, 550cc injectors, HKS bov, Turbosmart wastegate, Turbokits.com fuel rail, a Mishimoto intercooler, custom made 3-inch exhaust with a GReddy RS muffler. A Haltech stand alone engine management replaced the stock ECU for better tuning.
Now that I have the horsepower, I need to work on the looks. I searched and searched and finally came across a company that could ship me parts from Korea. I have a Nefd front bumper (the only one in North America with it), Nefd side skirts, Sequence GT spoiler and a Seibon carbon fiber hood. I didn't want the car to look like I just ordered everything out of a magazine, so off to paint it went.
I decided to keep the stock paint since it was already a cool paint code - "Racing Red". I painted the top part of the car in Ebony Black and decided to show the carbon fiber in the hood. The OEM paint wasn't the best so I had the whole car wet-sanded and then clear-coated. Since not too many companies make parts for this car, a lot of parts are custom-made. The headlights are a custom retro-fit quad-projector. I also had to fabricate a gauge pod using the existing clock pod.
The suspension is Megan Racing coil-overs, Ultraracing front and rear strut bars.
Interior consists of NRG steering wheel, short hub and quick release. Cypher seats, NRG harness and harness bar. TWM Performance short shifter and color-matched interior pieces using the OEM color code. Suede headliner and pillars accent the interior.
As far as wheels, I had to be as unique as the car. I contacted Rotiform and worked with them very carefully. What I have are Rotiform Classic BLQs, 18x9 with a +20 offset. These are actually a one-off set of wheels. They're wrapped in Nitto Neo Gen 215/40/18 tires with R1 Performance cross-drilled and slotted rotors, and ceramic pads.
Now that the performance and looks are done, I had to work on audio. I wanted to keep it simple and clean. I installed a Pioneer touch-screen DVD player and custom subwoofer enclosure in the trunk with two 10-inch MTX subwoofers and a MTX 900W amplifier.
The car looks great, runs great, sounds great and still gets 32mpg! What else can a guy ask for?

FAVORITE MODIFICATION
I'm going to have to say the turbo kit. The power it makes on such a light car is insane and it's actually a little car to drive!
