Richard Younker chose the 2004 Volkswagen Jetta GLI as his platform for a particular purpose. “I have been a long time Volkswagen fan and an opportunity came up to be in a anti-street racing program, Beat the Heat,” says Younker. While most of the cars in program are domestic muscle, Younker was looking to stand out from the crowd. “I wanted to use a car that would appeal more towards younger enthusiasts. This is why I chose to use my Jetta in the program. It grabs the attention of car enthusiasts to come and talk to us about our goals with the program.” Helping draw attention to the GLI parts from Injector Dynamics, FrankenTurbo, CAT CAMS, RaceQuip and Grip Royal. Plans for the future include the installation of nitrous, a water/air intercooler and a complete roll cage, as well as adding Satin Black paint to the exterior.
