A lot of thought has gone into Stephen Forbes' purchase of the 2013 Ford Focus SE Sedan. “I chose the Focus because I've always had a soft spot for Ford and racing pedigree in brands,” writes Forbes. “So the Focus name carries with it thoughts of lessons learned at historic rallies fused into my econobox. I also chose it thinking I may make it the first car I've actually modified, and I wanted something people wouldn't expect, and that might stand out as unique just for what it is.” Forbes has since modified the Focus with an AEM cold air intake, custom GT 2.5-inch dual pipe cat-back exhaust and KSport coilovers, to name a few. There’s also plenty more planned for the future, including the installation of ST brakes with slotted rotors, upgraded pads, front whisker delete and a Mercedes AMG paddle shifter, as well as a replacement dual-clutch MTX-75 manual transmission.

FAVORITE MODIFICATION:
“I can't pin it to one, but I can summarize in saying the exterior styling. Over the last couple of years the look of the car has continuously evolved and caused me to meet, chat with and become friends with a whole new world of people [through] the car enthusiast scene. So I'd have to pick the exterior looks overall because it gets a lot of conversations going, which turn to laughs, handshakes and good times. Adding power the the car ain't bad though.”
