Zachary Hancock has loved cars as a kid. As with most kids his age, it really shot off when the Fast and the Furious movies and Need for Speed Underground video games came out. "By the time I was old enough to drive," mentions Hancock, "my grandfather taught me to drive and do basic maintenance on cars."
Hancock (really) started looking into doing more work on cars and learning how cars worked (inside and out) while he was in college in 2012. He made small modifications to his Toyota Solara and tried to make it something cool to have. "I started going to the local car meets," he states. "I didn't really know anyone, and definitely didn't have what people would think of as a 'cool car'." He met a few people here and there but never really made too many connections.
A few years later, it was time to grow up and purchase his first car on his own, "I got a 2014 Focus ST." Hancock had gained experience working in a couple automotive shops, and had helped a few friends with working on and modifying their cars. "It was time to start something for myself." It began with a couple mods here and there, and then it snowballed. "It's something that I love doing," mentions Hancock. "I love to see a personality in a car, and bring it out (with a twist of my own personality here and there)."
Aside from the tune and the exhaust welding, Hancock has done most of the work himself and with some help from friends.
"I haven't really built anything before this car, but I know it's something I'm going to be doing for the rest of my life."
