A friend of Manvir Johal's initially bought a GT-R and it sparked his interest in the JDM scene. "And once I saw Sung Kang's 240Z SEMA build, I wanted a Datsun really bad," expresses Johal. So he decide to look around, "and I found a barn-find 1970 Datsun 240Z (Series 1), which is the rarest Datsun in the market, usually rust buckets." Johal bought the shell and started to work on it, at Cyrious Garageworks in Oakville, Ontario. "We came up with the plan to completely restore and build a clean daily Datsun," he mentions. They spent hundreds of hours on restoring the body to factory and added the Rocket Bunny kit. The 240Z was fitted with all new suspension and a new engine to hold roughly 300 whp. "This made it a fun daily (driver) and gave us the opportunity to be able to take it on the track," Johal states.

"This being my first ever build, the 3 years spent on this car felt like an eternity."
