Sean Hardwick bought the 1996 Honda Civic Hatchback in 2014. The Civic was yellow with a body kit and an Acura Integra Type R frontend. When Hardwick's daughter first saw the car she told him it looked like a "bee-do", a minion from the Despicable Me movie. So when Hardwick was deciding on a different paint color, and what he wanted to add and do for the engine swap, he started looking and couldn't find anything with a minion theme. "My wife, Lacey, and I searched for minions and discussed of the overall theme of the build," remembers Hardwick. "Since then we have redone most of the interior and the trunk, as well as painted the engine bay and swapped the motor with a B18B1 with turbo." They fixed any body damage found and repainted the car Lamborghini Geraldo yellow pearl with gold flake.
"This car helped me get to a place where I was confident enough to start my own car club called Limitless," states Hardwick. They have been a group since 2018 and have been growing.
Hardwick's Civic has inspired his wife to start a project car of her own, and joined the Limitless car club. "Our daughter's favorite thing to do during the summer is go to car shows with our Limitless family," he mentions.
The Civic is family-built. "My daughters help me change the oil and service it, as well as help detail it before shows," Hardwick mentions. This car is not just a car; it's something that their family does together. "Now 5 years later and our family is all about our car life. We love the car community - the friends and family we have made along the way."
