Ana Mendez got involved with cars because of her fiancé. "We would go to car meets and shows," she remembers, "and he would always talk about cars with me, and explain with details why he likes specific types of cars." Mendez bought the 1992 Nissan Skyline from Y-Plate Imports in Milwaukie, Portland in Spring 2019. "It was a gift that my fiancé got for me to start a new project and understand the culture following it has around the world," she mentions.
Mendez and her fiancé have been very fortunate to work with VIP Performance in Portland and Osaka Motorsports, Zero-Spirit Racing Japan and Haltech in bringing the Skyline back to its 90s era Mid-Night Club warrior status. This car's evolution is greatly inspired by the many retro 90s Mid-Night Club racers and Fuji Speed Devils commonly seen as Wangan racers throughout many parts of Japan.
