Patrick De Leon's 1980 Toyota Corolla has been in the family for over 30 years. "It comes with a lot of memories," De Leon states. The original owner of the car was his best friend, "it was his daily driver in high school," he remembers. The original 2TG engine was built by Ben Alameda Racing in 1984, but after that the Corolla was sidelined for 20 years. "It was 2016 when my daughter convinced me to bring it back to life," De Leon mentions.
Most of the interior is original except the front MK2 Toyota Supra seats, which were installed in 1987, and the instrument gauge clusters that was custom-built by his daughter. De Leon's Corolla is 98% period correct with some touch of modern technology.
"We debuted the Levin at the Japanese Classic Car Show in 2018," he mentions.
The 1980 Toyota Corolla Levin was restored by Drickstar Garage, including paint and bodywork. "A father-and-daughter team," De Leon states.
