Lee Olund got involved in the scene in 2006 after he bought a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart. He started going to car meets and made quite a few good friends, some of which he still hangs out with to this day. Olund was out of the scene for a few years, and after he and his wife bought a house, he started looking for a new car. "I originally had no plans to get back into the scene and modify my car," mentions Olund, "I just wanted a cheap sporty hatch that I could have a little fun in but still have warranty." A 2015 Hyundai Veloster Turbo was soon found on their driveway.
Olund went out for a cruise one night and ended up going past where his old crew used to hang out. "I had lost touch with all of them when I left the scene," states Olund, "it turned out they were all still meeting there and it was like I had never left." Needless to say, one thing led to another and the modifying bug was back!
"I owe so much to my wife with this build as she has supported me with it every step of the way," mentions Olund. His wife has helped with most of the installs and added her creative edge into the build. "I also wouldn't be where I am today with this build if it wasn't for the help of some of my closest friends - my buddy Steve of Wingnut Garage, was who given me the inspiration to do a graphic."
As a kid Olund was a huge transformers fan. "I have remained a huge fan and wanted to express my passion through my car," mentions Olund. He decided to go bold and added a graphic of a Transformer to the driver and passenger sides of the Veloster Turbo. "I wanted my car to make a statement, in addition to a conversation starter."
